Slowcookers Crockpots and not just for winter meals. They are a great way to help keep your cool in the kitchen during the summer. You can cook the main part of your meal without turning on the stove or oven. Ribs, Cabbage 'N Kraut is a tasty meal has a German flavor. Chunky, Creamy Chicken Soup is simple and should please everyone. It is also a great recipe for diabetics.

Ribs, Cabbage N 'Kraut

3 to 4 lb. pork ribs thin, cut into pieces sized service
salt to taste
pepper taste
1 small can sauerkraut
1 / 2 small head cabbage, thinly sliced
1 large onion, chopped
1 apple, quartered, cored, and sliced
1 tsp tea of caraway or dill
1 cup water
1 tsp Tea Salt

Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper to taste. Brown ribs for 30 minutes in a heavy skillet or roasting pan. Place alternating layers through Pork, sauerkraut, cabbage, onion and apples in Crock-Pot. Add caraway seeds and dill with water and pour over all. Cover and set on Low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours. Stir several times during cooking if you use the high setting.

Creamy, chunky CHICKEN SOUP

1 1 / 2 lb skinnless chicken breasts, cut into strips 2 inches

2 v. Tea oil plant

2 / 3 cup onion, finely chopped

2 medium carrots, chopped

2 ribs celery, chopped

1 cup frozen corn

2 cans (10 3 / 4 EA oz) condensed cream soup potato, undiluted

1 1 / 2 cups chicken broth

1 tsp tsp dill weed

1 cup frozen peas

1 / 2 cup half and half cream

In large skillet over medium-high heat, brown chicken in oil. With a slotted spoon, transfer chicken to a 5-quart Slowcooker or slow cooker. Add onion, carrots, celery and corn. In a medium bowl, whisk the soup, broth, dill and mix well. Stir in mixture in Slowcooker. Cover the pan and set on low. Cook the soup for 4 hours or until vegetables are tender. Stir in peas and cream. Cover and cook another 30 minutes or until heated through.
