When it comes to Crock pot (using a pressure cooker), I enjoy using mine all year. One of revenue I enjoy doing in it are Cabbage, which are also known as Pigs in a blanket.
This recipe takes some preparation time, but well worth your efforts.
To prepare the cabbage: Fill a large saucepan with water and bring to rapid boil. Take the base of each head cabbage. Place the head in boiling water, cover and cook 5 minutes, remove from the water immediately. With one head, take the leaves off, being careful not to tear. They must be flexible, if not, return it in water for a minute or two.
Cabbage
2 large heads of cabbage
2 to 3 pounds. lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
6 cups cooked rice
1 hot pepper, cut into small dice
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 can tomato soup
1 / 2 can hot water
Fry the chopped lean beef and onion in large skillet over medium heat until it is no longer pink, drain fat. In a large bowl, combine cooked ground beef mixed with cooked rice, the diced peppers, paprika and salt, set aside.
On a clean surface as a cutting board, place 2 to 3 tablespoons of meat mixture in center of cabbage leaf. Overlap the sides of the leaf and roll. Repeat until your meat mixture is completely exhausted.
Place rolls in your slow cooker (crock pot) and pour box tomato soup over a can 1 / 2 lukewarm water. Turn the dial to high heat, cover and cook slowly for 4 hours or until completely cooked.
If you wish, you can freeze the leftovers for a maximum of 6 months in your freezer that this recipe will make about 25 to 35 cigars Cabbage.
