Beef stew in a crockpot? I need help ..?
SORRY FOR ASKING A QUESTION IF IT'S A Dumn! Ok, I have never made a stew BEF before, and I want to Try it. what are the ingredients that I have: the pre-cut stew meat, potatoes, onions, package baby carrots braised beef stew mix can someone tell me what I can do with all this? I want to cook in a crock pot for tomorrow. THANK YOU ANY PERSON WHO CAN HELP YOU. I hope I do not require any other components .. the weather is really bad here and I can not get out. I also have mixed onion soup if necessary, I have cream of mushroom soup .. Do I just add that to the rest of the stuff as well? These vegetables Vegetables are fresh, not frozen or canned … OOH boy, I got celery too ..
Okay good recipe for Beef Stew to come: Preparation: In large saucepan, add 4-5 tablespoons vegetable oil. Heat on high until very hot. Add beef sufficient to cover the bottom of the pot. Cook until pieces easily detach the bottom. Brown other side. Remove, and not until next batch that all meat is browned and put in crock pot. Pre brown the beef allows the beef to retain its moisture during cooking further. The most you cook the meat more tender it becomes. Add the onions in the oil and cook until translucent, add beef. Now, cut potatoes and carrots into chunks and add to slow cooker. Add your package stew mix, and so much water it says to add. If it does not say, then add about 2-3 cups of water. S & P to taste. Cook in a crock pot on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours .. not looking! let the lid until it did. Here's how you can make a stew from ingredients you have.
