crockpot stew wine
Would you use a whole chicken like they do on the cooking shows to make a chicken broth?

I saw a show where the Head left a whole chicken in a slow cooker to make stock overnight, then threw the chicken. I made a stew of chicken necks and giblets, yesterday evening. I use chicken broth powder, garlic, onion, wine, bay leaf and basil to taste. Then I cut the meat and simmer over low heat with the potatoes. Why should I use a whole chicken when you can buy canned chicken broth? I could make chicken This hot-cold.

When I use I throw the chicken bones, skin, wings, back and all the other bits I do not use it in a plastic freezer bag. When I have time I made it home stock. Stock house is a billion times better than nature preserves and easy to store, I freeze in freezer bags and some in ice cube trays (if you need just a little).
