Broth or canned condensed cream soups make an easy basic if you do not want to create an all parts. Add vegetables, noodles, rice, or any other favorite ingredients and simmer all day on low. Even if you feel under the weather, it only takes a few moments to throw some ingredients together and taken in the slow cooker. Later in the day, you'll have a soup, wonderful nutritious food to relieve the throat and make you feel better.

Add a little broth or broth and your favorite vegetables before leaving for work. When you get home, add some noodles and cook for about half an hour. If you prefer vegetarian dishes, Pumpkin soup is easy to do with the pumpkin or squash, parsnips, apples, potatoes and some seasonings. Simply puree at the end of cooking with stick blender and you have a tasty bowl of goodness to warm through.

Slow cookers are also an excellent choice for stews all kinds especially when using cuts of meat that may not be quite as tender for budgetary reasons. It is not so much a problem in a slow cooker or casserole as the natural process softens the meat and makes a very tasty stew. All you need do is cut into small sized pieces of meat and sear it in a saucepan and add to that a few sauteed mushrooms, onions and some of your favorite vegetables in small pieces, covered in liquid (wine works of Nice), season and cook on low heat all day. In the end, add a roux to this to thicken the sauce and you have the hunter's stew wonderful.
