The addition of vanilla extract with apples cooked with cinnamon?
I'm trying to basically apple pie filling in my crockpot. I did it in the oven before successfully, but I did not like the crust got some apples on top of the oven. I I noticed that the vanilla extract, will add this to make the apple taste bad or make it better? Has anyone tried it?
Oh yes, I tried and vanilla goes great with apples! Weather they are baked, roasted, fried or baked at low heat (in your case), I am surprised that your recipe does not ask for it. But that's OK because you were obviously smart enough to know what another layer of flavor that you have asked about here! Good for you and all who will enjoy your apple pie filling! Happy Pie To you.
