I use the crock pot for split pea soup, chicken roast. I just followed the recipe for split pea soup on the package and cook for 8-10 hours on low heat. I cook chicken breasts and thighs in barbecue sauce (make sure it covers) for the same amount of time low. For the roast, I use a chuck roast tender. I brown roast in a skillet. Then I chop a good amount of carrots, potatoes, onions. Put the roast first, then vegetables. I mix a box Campbell's cream of mushroom soup and French onion soup and pour on top and cook for 8 hours or so on the bottom.
