I need a good roast slow cooker recipe.?

I searched online and all recipes have many ingredients too. I'm looking for a recipe that has the least amount of ingredients, but will result in a roasted flavor. Anything that implies that spices and liquid. Also, wondering if I can throw the roast in frozen (obviously with more cooking time) or if I have to defrost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Answer ASAP because I want to throw the roast tonight and I'm going to sleep early.))
